The European Association of Epilepsy Centres (EAEC) held its annual meeting on 21-23 January in Dianalund in Denmark, with Dr Maria Oto and Head of Epilepsy Services Gerard Gahagan in attendance.

The meeting is an opportunity to share best practice and learning from a network of 14 specialist epilepsy centres across Europe.

The meeting involved clinical, operational and scientific aspects as well as a tour of the specialist centre operated by the charity Filadelfia. Topics covered included updates on strategic issues of each epilepsy centre, the Dianalund centre of excellence, developing a gold standard for European epilepsy centres, academic centres for epilepsy, e-health, telemedicine and telemonitoring.

The William Quarrier Scottish Epilepsy Centre will host the next EAEC meeting in January 2016.
